Feeling Rain

I have noticed those drops fall
Swollen and angry
They fall with a thwack
An angry slap at all that they touch
A rhythmic whine
An off-key scream
A persistent patter of complaint
They collect in a puddle or two
Pooling their grievances
Festering disillusionments
Only to run off into little streams
Seeking an escape
Even from what they are destined to become
Clouding windows
And impending rituals
Such like that
Of smoke breaks in little balconies
Those drops have their own agenda
To wreck vengeance
As they fall
High-fiving each other.
