Just!!

It rained all day today, and incessantly at that. I wished I was back in India so that endless cups of steaming chai and spicy eats could just keep materializing in front of me. Instead, I just spent all of my time wondering how wonderful it’d be just to have the Barefoot Contessa as a friend!

On ‘aside’ news, the fashionista in me is a tad pleased today coz I just acquired a Gucci bag, courtesy, an indulgent husband! (Woohoo!) My epitaph would probably read,’Here rests a bag lady’. I have already spotted a Chloe, which am hoping to score over a birthday!

Ok, so am a bag-hag, sue me!

On another ‘aside’, this weekend am hoping to catch two exhibits, one of Matisse and another of Balenciaga. Sculpture and Couture. Just the kind of design therapy the doctor ordered!

The final ‘aside’: My friend named his two dogs, ‘Gin’ and ‘Tonic’. While am all for their names, it’s not exactly conducive to calling your dogs out aloud. Nope. (We know.. we practiced all pitches..)

I have never been a ‘Gin And Tonic’ drinker. The only time I favor Gin is when it comes in a martini. But inspired by the recent nomenclature, I decided to give it a whirl. Throw in a piece of lime, its actually pretty decent. Anyway, like this friend says,”Am against alcohol abuse. I’ll drink anything, but no wasting alcohol!”

(Hic)

Before I scream, ‘Over and out’, let me leave you with this as I sit reading ‘Infidel’ by Ayaan Hirsi Ali...

“A good heavy book holds you down. Its an anchor that keeps you from getting up and having another gin and tonic”
- Roy Blount Jr
