Secrets

I have a secret, you said and you smiled
Unleashing at once the desire to uncover, and the need to forget
You might have been teasing, for the lazy wink that accompanied stood in mute testament.

But you see, I know a little something about secrets
And while a luxury it may be to divulge
Far easier it be to drape a cloak of romanticism and bury deeper.

I have a secret, you said and you smiled.
I know. And with a smile of my own, I add, so have I.
